Shanita Walker joined Blackman & Sloop in December 2023 as an Administrative Associate, bringing a passion for organization and a genuine appreciation for supporting both clients and colleagues. She was drawn to the firm because of its commitment to the community, its focus on professional growth, its emphasis on work-life balance, and its reputation for delivering quality service.
Of the firm’s core values, Maximize Potential resonates most with Shanita. She believes that when team members are encouraged to continue learning and developing professionally, everyone benefits. Investing in people not only helps individuals grow but also strengthens the firm’s ability to deliver exceptional service to clients.
One of the things Shanita enjoys most about her work is the opportunity to bring organization to fast-paced, ever-changing situations. She enjoys solving problems, streamlining processes, and creating efficient systems that help keep the team running smoothly. Shanita is also excited about Blackman & Sloop’s partnership with Ascend and the opportunities new technology will create to help the firm continue delivering an exceptional client experience.
Outside of work, Shanita enjoys dancing, reading, spending time in the water, and even cleaning, which she says she finds incredibly satisfying. A fun fact about Shanita is that she grew up across the street from the Neville Brothers, making music and dancing in the streets a memorable part of her childhood.
