What year did you join Blackman & Sloop?
I joined Blackman & Sloop in February 2020.
Where did you go to college?
I completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
Why did you choose Blackman & Sloop?
I chose Blackman & Sloop because of the close-knit environment and how friendly and positive everyone is. Every day I log in, my inbox is filled with nice reminders about food in the kitchen, or people sending out IT quick tips or helpful hints on tackling accounting issues. It’s very inviting to work here.
What are your favorite ways to practice positivity?
My favorite way to practice positivity is through meditation. I find zeroing in on your own heartbeat very relaxing, calming, and ultimately extremely positive. Other grounding approaches I take are practicing yoga or taking long walks. These are positive influences that help me practice positivity.
If you could have lunch with any person living or dead who would it be and why?
This is such a tough question! For the time being, I’d choose a luncheon with Neil Gaiman, Van Gogh, and Waldo Emerson. I think it’d be a lively discussion in which they’d discuss art, writing, and tremendous ideas; I’d like to sit back and just listen. They’re big inspirations for me in different ways and I think about their art often. It’d be nice to hear their voices ‘for real’ versus through their works alone.
