Trish Distler joined Blackman & Sloop in 2020 and currently serves as a Tax Director in the firm’s tax department. She brings more than three decades of professional experience to her role, with a focus on business tax consulting and tax preparation for large partnerships, investment entities, LLCs, and commercial real estate groups. Trish is known for her analytical approach, compassionate leadership style, and ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, practical guidance for clients.

Before joining Blackman & Sloop, Trish spent six years with a Miami–based firm, three years with BDO in Missouri, and three years with a local St. Louis firm. Earlier in her career, she spent 18 years as a research scientist at two large nonprofit conservation organizations in St. Louis and the San Francisco Bay Area—experience that continues to shape her perspective, discipline, and appreciation for detail. In addition to her client work, Trish plays an important role in staff
development, contributing significantly to the training and onboarding of new team members.

Outside the office, Trish enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, camping, swimming, and trail running. A St. Louis native, she now lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina, a place she adores for its easy access to both the mountains and the beach. Trish resides there with her husband, Jose, their twin sons, and their two dogs.
