Deetra Watson has been a cornerstone of the Blackman & Sloop team since 2005 and now serves as Assurance Principal. She leads the firm’s assurance group with a focus on strategy, staff development, and delivering exceptional service. Specializing in nonprofit audits and 990s, Deetra finds genuine joy in helping clients achieve their goals. Building strong, lasting relationships is her passion, and she takes pride in offering high–quality, trustworthy guidance every step of the way.

When Deetra isn’t working, she enjoys staying active, traveling, and spending time with her family. She has two sons and lives in Durham, NC. Deetra values the importance of hard work and strives to set a good example for her sons. She believes that there’s good in every situation and person, even when it’s not immediately obvious. For her, searching for what is good and standing by what you do is invaluable!
