Another successful tax season completed. Thank you to all of our dedicated team members and loyal clients who helped us through this year. As we move into summer, the Blackman & Sloop team is hard at work and taking some time for fun. Here’s what we’ve been up to since our last newsletter!
Promotions and New Hires:
Rachel Bullock: Rachel is a former intern who has come back to join us full time as a Business Advisory and Tax Associate, started May 20th
Lexi Raphael: As our summer intern, Lexi will rotate between all service areas (Business Advisory, Tax and Audit). Lexi started May 24.
Conferences/Seminars/Events:
On April 29 – May 1, some members of the firm attended the BDO Conference in Las Vegas
On May 16, Deetra Watson and Elizabeth Mauch presented “Mastering the Fiduciary Boardroom” at a workshop hosted by the North Carolina Center for Non Profits.
May 16 – On May 16, Blackman & Sloop was honored at the Business North Carolina Best Employers in North Carolina Gala. We made the list as one of the best employers – # 9 in our category. These were not just accounting firms, but all types of businesses.

Office Happenings:
April 4 – 25th Year celebration of NC State’s MAC program
April 15 – The team celebrated the end of tax season with lunch at Bar Taco!
April 16 – Zoosday Tuesday, some members of the staff took a break and headed to the Asheboro Zoo.
