Promotions / New Hires:
On September 30, Ross Stremme joined the team as an Audit Manager. Welcome Ross!
Conferences / Seminars / Events:
It was great to see everyone on October 22-23 at the Center For Non-Profits Annual Conference! One of our own, Deetra Watson, presented the breakout session: “Numbers to Necessities: Nonprofit Accounting Hot Topics & Federal Regulations”.
We wrapped up our Fall Recruiting Season on a high note with successful visits to Wake Tech, Campbell University, and ECU.
Volunteerism/Community Events:
In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact, our “Pay It Forward” committee led a heartfelt relief effort. Blackman & Sloop contributed $500 worth of non-perishable food and water, while our team members generously added personal donations to support the cause. Sara-Kelly Hawes personally delivered the supplies to the town of Old Fort, North Carolina!
On October 23 we packed up and delivered meals to the Ronald McDonald House!
On November 20, we gathered all the food donations our team collected throughout the month and delivered them to TABLE, spreading a little extra care to those in need!
Office Happenings:
On Halloween we celebrated with our annual Chili cook off and pumpkin carving contest!
On November 20, we enjoyed a delicious meal at our Thanksgiving Potluck complete with Rob Lewis’s smoked turkey and of course, all the traditional Thanksgiving sides and desserts!
