The local accounting firm of Blackman & Sloop CPAs, P.A. announces the retirement of long-time team member Joan C. Pharr, CPA, CGMA, Principal, effective June 30, 2020.
Pharr joined the firm in 1978. During her 42 year career, she has worked in many areas of the accounting industry. She specialized in working with high-net-worth individuals and providing estate and trust compliance and planning services. Pharr was known throughout the firm as being a driven professional with a high degree of excellence in the work she completed for clients.
“It is with mixed emotions that I congratulate Joan on her retirement. Everyone at the firm is extremely happy for her, but I know that she will be sorely missed,” said Andrea Woodell Eason, CPA, CGMA, Managing Principal/President of Blackman & Sloop. “I’m very grateful to Joan for her many years of dedicated service. I wish her the best as she enters this new stage of her life.”
Pharr resides in Chapel Hill with her husband. In her retirement, she looks forward to spending more time with her family and pursuing her favorite hobbies, which include golf, traveling, and learning.
